Welcome to Menlo Park

First incorporated in 1874 by two Irish immigrants, Menlo Park is known as the home to social media powerhouse Facebook, who is also the biggest employer. Once described as a "bohemian town" in the 70's, the city has grown to become a tech-driven, highly educated and affluent community.

Did You Know?

• Local bookstore Kepler's Books is one of the town's most beloved landmarks. With the decline of book sales forcing their closure in 2005, locals rallied and successfully reopened the store within weeks.
• Facebook moved to Menlo Park in December 2011, taking over the former campus of Sun Microsystems.
